What do you do?
As a member of the Digital + Social Strategy team, I help our clients tackle the constantly evolving world of social media with creative channel executions and campaigns. I love the challenge of finding new and authentic ways to connect our clients with their audiences, while also representing their brand, their voice, and the humans behind their technology.
From sifting through social metrics to construct the most effective strategy possible, to fist-fighting the algorithm, to creating animated videos and designing assets, I get to flex my analytical muscles while exploring my creative side on a daily basis.
Why Big Valley Marketing?
The smart people, the transparent leaders, and the culture of empathy.
At Big Valley, I’m not boxed into my job title. Not only am I encouraged by our leaders to explore all the complex facets of my professional interests, but I’m always asked how I can be better supported to do so. Plus, I get to work with some of the most experienced and talented folks in the industry and everyone is always more than happy to share their wealth of knowledge. Most importantly, Big Valley is extremely progressive when it comes to remote work, employee advocacy, mental health awareness, paid leave policies, and more. I never feel like I have to put my work before my life to succeed.
What’s one thing fun or surprising/unexpected about you?
I’ve worked in restaurants for over a decade (I still work at a bar 3-4 nights a week now!) and majored in hospitality management – from dive bars to fine dining, I’ve done it all. Up until the pandemic, I was certain I wanted to be a professional mixologist or work for a major hotel corporation. The service industry and the very special relationships I’ve built within it have given me such a unique view on life and human behavior. I’m grateful I get to take that skillset and apply it to client-facing work at Big Valley now.
Translation: I make a mean old fashioned.
